Student Assistant (w/m/d) for Software engineering
The part-time position can start in October with 10 working hours. The initial appointment will be for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of extension.

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized student assistant to support our hepatology research team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting with software engineering and pipeline updates. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a student interested in applying their software engineering skills.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of software applications used in hepatology research.
Update and optimize existing research pipelines for data analysis.
Collaborate with researchers to design and implement software tools for data collection and processing.
Ensure the smooth integration of software tools into existing research workflows.
Troubleshoot and debug software issues as they arise.
Document code and maintain clear records of software development processes.
Participate in regular team meetings to discuss project progress and challenges.
Provide technical support to research team members regarding software-related issues.
Qualifications

Currently enrolled as a Bachelor’s or Master’s student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
Experience with software development, including version control (e.g., Git).
Familiarity with data analysis tools and frameworks commonly used in research (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
Understanding of database management and query languages (e.g., SQL).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
