It was recently published in the AZ that students who have been waiting for their BAföG for some time can bridge the gap by applying to the Jobcenter. As far as we know, this is not possible! The Social Department has asked the Jobcenter and was informed that enrolled students are only entitled to ALG II in exceptional cases. Students can submit an application for advance payment to the BAföG office, but here too you have to expect a waiting period. Further information can be found under this link:
In the event of acute financial need, students can contact the Department of Social Affairs at soziales@asta.rwth-aachen.de or in person during opening hours from Monday to Friday between 10 am and 2 pm.
